Job summary

Stryker is hiring for an onsite fabrication technician in Portage, MI. You will operate sheet metal fabrication equipment and perform setup, inspection, and quality checks to produce high-quality parts.

The role requires adherence to work instructions, safety standards, and preparation for overtime or weekend shifts. The position offers a night schedule with compulsory overtime and a starting pay of $20.50 per hour plus a $1.50 shift premium, plus bonus potential and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous manufacturing or fabrication experience is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality fabricated parts using a variety of metal fabrication equipment.
• Operate equipment such as punch presses, shears, rolls, power brakes, saws, drill presses, weld nut stations, and other basic fabrication equipment.
• Load and unload equipment and perform routine production operations.
• Cut, bend, straighten, and form sheet metal stock and parts according to established specifications.
• Create basic shop aids such as stops, guides, feeding aids, and blocks to support machine operations.
• Complete machine setup, work preparation, fabrication, cleanup, and preventative maintenance of your work center.
• Inspect your work using appropriate gauges and inspection equipment and troubleshoot basic issues as needed.
• Follow established work instructions, safety procedures, quality standards, and production requirements.
• Complete required production and quality documentation.
• Meet scheduled work and overtime requirements, including weekends when required.
