Samtec in Wilsonville, OR is seeking a night shift machine operator for extrusion (Wed-Fri, 5:00 PM–5:00 AM) with a starting pay of $22.00/hour plus a 75-cent per hour shift differential. This 12-hour, 3-day workweek offers full benefits and training, with opportunities to learn cable production processes and operate high-temperature equipment up to 1000°F.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, accuracy in computer entry, and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Good computer entry skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications, schematics, shop orders, read prints, operating instructions, perform basic math calculations, basic statistics interpretation, identify basic functional problems, take corrective action, and interface with supervisors and engineers to solve problems.
• Stand for 12 hours and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run jobs for customer orders.
• Maintain a high level of quality and on-time delivery standards.
• Manage job inventory per established methods and procedures.
• Complete and maintain the required paperwork.
• Enter Maintenance Requests on a computer when machine issues are identified.
• For Extrusion - Set up and run extruder jobs for customer orders.
• Work with high temperature machine/parts up to 1000°F.
• Follow the approved processes related to machine manufacturing, tooling, resin type and color mix, extrusion temperatures, line speed, peripheral settings, reel quantities, labeling, recipe used for cable measurements, product usage and inventory issues.
• Understand and follow all safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
