Job summary

Samtec, Inc is seeking a Machine Operator - Extrusion for the Wilsonville, Oregon cable plant. The role is on the night shift (Wed–Fri, 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM) with a starting pay of $22.00 per hour plus a 75 cent per hour night differential. Training is provided and full benefits are included.

Responsibilities include setting up and running extrusion jobs, maintaining quality and on-time delivery, and handling job inventory and paperwork. Prior cable manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Good computer entry skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications, schematics, shop orders, read prints, operating instructions, perform basic math calculations, basic statistics interpretation, identify basic functional problems, take corrective action, and interface with supervisors and engineers to solve problems.
• Experience with cable manufacturing processes is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical degree or certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run jobs for customer orders.
• Maintain a high level of quality and on-time delivery standards.
• Manage job inventory per established methods and procedures.
• Complete and maintain the required paperwork.
• Enter Maintenance Requests on a computer when machine issues are identified.
• Follow extrusion processes and machine safety procedures.
