Job summary

Knife River is seeking an Excavator Operator to support aggregate production. Typical schedule is 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with possible Saturday work depending on weather and demand. Responsibilities include operating CAT 374 excavator, site inspections, and moving material to trucks or conveyors.

Applicants should have prior experience in aggregate plants or mines and be able to pass background and drug screening. Safety-first attitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must operate CAT 374 (200k lbs) hydraulic excavator.
• Experience in aggregate plants or mines.
• Able to pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug screen.
• Safety-first attitude required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment walk around and site inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions and keep equipment maintained.
• Excavating and breaking hard rock for aggregate production.
• Efficiently transferring excavated material to trucks or conveyors.
• Stabilizing mining slopes to ensure safety and prevent collapses.
• Compact excavator for precise digging in confined spaces.
