Job summary

Emerus is seeking a dedicated ER Technician/Healthcare Support role to provide technical assistance and compassionate patient care across assigned areas. You will collect samples, assist with examinations, monitor patient safety, and help maintain a clean environment in a small-format hospital setting.

The position requires BLS, with ACLS/PALS preferred in many markets and a range of EMT/certifications considered based on locale. Travel to facility locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of medical corpsman program or EMT-P/EMT-A/LP with experience; or EMT-B with ER experience; or nursing school enrollment with experience.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current ACLS/ALS certification required in most markets; exceptions noted for certain markets.
• Current PALS certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data; take vital signs and collect specimens.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing per policies and regulations (COLA/CLIA).
• Assist with patient activities and care as directed by charge nurse.
• Provide superficial wound care and ensure patient safety.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and follow aseptic techniques and infection control.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
