Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a full-time night shift (7pm–7am). The ED emphasizes rapid assessment, multidisciplinary care, and trauma support with access to a trauma surgeon and operating room.

37.5 hours weekly, with every other weekend and some holidays required. Requirements include 2+ years acute care nursing, NY RN license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS, plus TNCC within 1 year and CEN within 3 years.

Qualifications

• 2+ years acute care experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Current New York State RN License
• BCLS from the American Heart Association
• ACLS from the American Heart Association
• PALS from the American Heart Association
• TNCC within 1 year of hire
• CEN certification within 3 years of hire
• Emergency Nursing Academy completion (weekly 3-hour class for 20 weeks)
• Participation on one of 12 clinical councils after probation
• Nursing Residency program completion if <1 year acute care experience

Responsibilities

• Assess conditions and rapidly arrange multidisciplinary care.
• Provide hi-tech interventions and community trauma care.
• Comfort families and organize teams when every second counts.
• Support ongoing care continuity for ED patients.
