Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a dedicated bedside nurse for the Emergency Department. This role involves direct patient care during a 12-hour night shift, applying the nursing process to patients from admission to discharge.

The ideal candidate holds Massachusetts Nursing licensure, BLS, and preferably ACLS/PALS. Prior ER experience is valued; you will participate in care coordination, education, and quality initiatives within a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current.
• BSN is preferred but not required; advanced certifications may be valued.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessments and care planning.
• Administers medications and treatments per policy; assists physicians as required.
• Documents care and collaborates with other health professionals.
• Participates in quality improvement and nursing governance activities.
