Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department in St. Peters, Missouri. The position at Progress West Hospital is full-time, with 3–12 hour night shifts, and benefits eligible.

This RN role provides direct patient care in a fast-paced ED, while promoting patient safety and quality. The nurse will collaborate with an interprofessional team to plan, implement, and document individualized care plans and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• RN license or eligibility to obtain RN in Missouri.
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care and educates patients and families on post-treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
