Job summary

UPMC is seeking an Environmental Services Assistant for a part-time night position with weekend/holiday rotation. The role supports hospital cleanliness and safety across departments, with both 12-hour and 8-hour block options depending on unit needs.

The position is part of the AFSCME union, and an off-shift program offers a $2 night differential for off-shift hours as part of the program. Prior cleaning experience is helpful, and high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in institutional cleaning helpful.
• Ability to lift/move heavy to light loads and stand/walk long periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate departmental equipment safely and keep areas clean and sanitary.
• Clean and disinfect patient areas, rooms, and surrounding spaces.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties and maintain supply areas.
• Follow infection control procedures and use PPE as required.
• Assist in moving equipment and supplies as directed by supervision.
