Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, disinfecting surfaces, cleaning walls and fixtures, handling laundry-related tasks, and ensuring overall cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.
• Stands, walks, bends and reaches continuously.
• Handles heavy and medium-weight material, equipment and supplies.
• Exposed to refuse, dirt, detergents, body wastes and odors indoors and outdoors; possible contact with infection.

Responsibilities

• Operates cleaning and housekeeping tasks in University buildings including residence halls, hospital and admin/academic buildings.
• Performs routine cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance using appropriate equipment.
• Cleans walls, ceilings, stairs, vents and light fixtures; dusts and waxes furniture; empties wastebaskets.
• Moves equipment and furniture as needed; tightens hardware and adjusts fixtures.
• Assists with linen distribution and room maintenance; cleans kitchens and dining areas.
• Maintains cleanliness of storage areas and equipment; performs related duties as assigned.
• Following safety and instruction guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment.
