Job summary

UT MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an experienced Nocturnal Endocrine Advanced Practice Provider to deliver specialized inpatient endocrine and diabetes care during evening and night shifts. You will work with faculty physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes in a high-acuity cancer care setting.

The role emphasizes autonomous clinical practice, collaboration, and education while supporting extended night shifts on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• 2 years professional clinical experience; residency/fellowship acceptable as substitute.
• Graduate-level APRN/PA license in Texas to practice in hospital settings.
• Endocrinology experience preferred but not required; oncology experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient endocrine and diabetes coverage during overnight shifts under attending physician oversight.
• Manage endocrinopathies and cancer therapy-related endocrine complications.
• Oversee glucose control, lipid management, insulin therapies, and pump therapy for specialized patients.
• Develop treatment plans, implement care, and evaluate outcomes with a multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate across the care continuum and communicate clearly with physicians and staff.
• Titrate insulin regimens and ensure continuity of care through IPASS handoffs.
• Attend Diabetes Services meetings and participate in rounds and education.
• Coordinate discharge planning and medication access as part of inpatient diabetes service.
