Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our ER team on the full-time night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). The EMT ensures rapid initial patient care, basic life support, and accurate vital sign assessment as patients arrive.

Responsibilities include triage support, EMR documentation, equipment readiness, and collaboration with nurses and physicians to deliver coordinated care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS and PALS certificates required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, immediate patient care by utilizing EMT training to administer basic life support, stabilize patients, and respond swiftly to medical emergencies in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Perform detailed patient assessments to evaluate vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, ensuring timely identification of urgent needs and accurate communication with the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to contribute to an integrated care approach, promoting continuity and efficiency in patient treatment plans.
• Assist in triaging patients upon arrival by assessing the severity of their condition and supporting decisions on prioritization of care based on clinical protocols.
• Maintain precise and thorough documentation of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR), supporting legal compliance and clinical continuity.
• Inspect and manage emergency medical equipment and supplies to ensure optimal functionality, cleanliness, and availability, contributing to a safe and prepared emergency care environment.
