Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a part-time EMT or AEMT for night shift (1 day / 12 hours per week) on the Transport EMS team. You will conduct patient assessments, provide compassionate care, monitor vital signs, and ensure patient stability during transport to facilities.

Role includes lifting heavy patients in a team setting, documenting PCRs, communicating handovers, and ensuring equipment readiness and vehicle safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• EMT-Basic Certification by the Kentucky Board of EMS is required.
• EMT-Advanced Certification (AEMT) in Kentucky is required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by the American Heart Association or ARC.
• Other Kentucky Board of EMS certifications and specialty training as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify injuries, illnesses, or emergencies.
• Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients and families during transport.
• Monitor vital signs and adjust treatment interventions to ensure stability and comfort.
• Lift and move patients to/from stretchers, often >250 lbs in a team setting.
• Safely transport patients using designated EMS vehicles and report to receiving staff.
• Complete PCRs and maintain accurate patient care records in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensure EMS equipment and supplies are stocked, maintained, and functional; perform vehicle checks.
