Job summary

Baptist Health Louisville is seeking a full-time EMT or AEMT for the EMS Transport team on the night shift. The position requires professional, compassionate care and accurate documentation during transport.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, patient handovers, and collaboration with healthcare teams, with a strong emphasis on safety, equipment readiness, and compliant care delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Certification by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Kentucky EMT-Advanced Certification for AEMT.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify injuries, illnesses, or medical emergencies.
• Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients and families during transport.
• Monitor vital signs and adjust treatment interventions as necessary for patient stability.
• Assist with lifting and moving patients to and from stretchers, including heavy lifts in a team.
• Safely transport patients to medical facilities using designated EMS vehicles.
• Communicate with receiving medical personnel for detailed handover and history.

Education
