Job summary

Baptist Health Louisville is seeking a PRN Emergency Medical Technician to join our Transport EMS team. You will perform patient assessments, provide compassionate care, monitor vitals, and transport patients to facilities while ensuring detailed handovers and accurate PCRs.

The role requires EMT-B certification in Kentucky, BLS, a valid driver’s license, and ongoing specialty trainings. Excellent benefits accompany this critical public health role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Certification by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by the AHA or ARC.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify injuries, illnesses, or emergencies.
• Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients and families during transport.
• Monitor vital signs and adjust treatments to maintain patient stability and comfort.
• Assist with lifting/moving patients, often >250 lbs, in a team setting.
• Transport patients to medical facilities using EMS vehicles and provide handover notes to receiving staff.
• Complete PCRs and maintain accurate records of assessments and treatments.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform routine checks of EMS vehicles and equipment for readiness and safety.
