Job summary

White Oak Medical Center seeks an experienced Emergency Department Technician to support the ED team in delivering safe, patient-centered care alongside registered nurses.

Responsibilities include following the care plan, maintaining safety, and assisting the RN while ensuring effective communication. Requires CNA program completion or early nursing studies, Maryland CNA or EMT certification, and BLS. This is a full-time night shift with weekend/holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of the CNA program or first year of Nursing School and CNA exam.
• Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by Maryland or be a certified EMT.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to read, write and speak English well.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Role-models positive customer service behaviors and upholds values.
• Follows care plan established by RN and ensures safety and excellence.
• Works with RN to promote cohesive teams and collaborates with other departments for patient-centered care.
• Participates in education programs, meetings and professional initiatives.
• Identifies and uses resources for safe patient care; reports malfunctioning equipment.
