Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis is seeking a Social Worker to join the Emergency Department team, delivering patient-centered social work services in a high‑volume, Level I trauma setting.

You will provide direct clinical services to patients and families, coordinate discharge planning and referrals, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support health outcomes and smooth handoffs across shifts. A Master’s Degree in Social Work is required; ED experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work required.
• ED experience preferred (Medical Social Work highly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct clinical services to patients and families.
• Plans and implements social work services on assigned clinical service or unit in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Collaborates with community human service agencies to meet patient and family needs and ensure safe discharge.
