Job summary

PepsiCo in Dallas is seeking a maintenance technician to repair and install advanced production equipment, inspect systems, and perform manufacturer-guided preventative maintenance. You may mentor less experienced mechanics and must have your own hand tools.

The role requires working near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals, with frequent lifting and possible weekend/holiday work. You will oversee contractors, manage line changes, and ensure GMP and safety with thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Pass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas.
• Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
• Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting).
• Experience with product manuals and applying knowledge to repairs.
• Experience reading electrical/mechanical schematics and blueprints.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and diagnostics.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings (hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Ability to read/write/speak English due to safety sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on advanced production equipment.
• Perform repairs on production equipment as needed.
• Perform breakdown analysis.
• Oversee or perform general housekeeping and upgrade lines with new technology.
• Direct activities of outside contractors on the line.
• Change line for package changeovers.
• Enforce GMP, safety, and audit standards.
• Work independently under limited supervision.
• Document work schedule and tasks completed.
