Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems in Somerville, MA is seeking a Production Technician for the third shift to support the manufacturing of superconducting magnets. You will build electromechanical assemblies, read drawings, and work with precision tools in a fast-paced environment.

Requires at least 6 years in electro-mechanical assembly and experience with hand tools. The role includes night hours 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, on-site, with competitive pay ($30-$41/hr) and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalency certificate or higher.
• Minimum of 6 years experience with various hand tools.
• Minimum of 6 years experience in Mechanical or Electrical Assembly.

Responsibilities

• Build a variety of electromechanical parts and assemblies.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to develop and qualify new manufacturing techniques and processes.
• Perform production builds according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing discrepancies with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Use torque wrenches, wrenches, Allen keys, micrometers, and calipers to assemble parts.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and detailed work instructions.
• Communicate challenges and ideas effectively to peers and leadership.
• Operate production, testing and high-powered magnet equipment.
