Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Canton, OH is hiring an Electrician III on a night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am; training on 1st shift). The role focuses on installing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems in production and facility equipment, with PLCs, HMIs and motor controls.

Candidates should have advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems, be able to read schematics, work safely in a manufacturing environment, and participate in continuous improvement. Overtime and travel <5% may be required.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems and motor controls.
• Ability to read and interpret complex control schematics.
• Knowledge of safety standards and NEC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Complies with safety practices and SOPs.
• Maintains safe work environment and investigates incidents.
• Installs, modifies and repairs electrical components on equipment.
• Troubleshoots electrical faults with test equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance.
• Programs and troubleshoots PLC-controlled equipment.
• Participates in shutdowns, turnarounds, and start-ups.
• Leads installation and continuous improvement of electrical production procedures.
• Reviews work orders and communicates status.
• Provides technical support during outages.
• Trains Level I electricians on safety.
• Overtime and travel as needed.
