Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX is seeking an Electrician Helper II to support skilled crafts in electrical installation, repair, and wiring tasks within a plant environment.

You will learn under direct supervision and perform duties to assist reliability and safety, including reading instructions and using a variety of hand and power tools. Outdoor, high/low voltage exposure, and overtime are common.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Electrician Helper II in a Power Plant or industrial setting.
• Must understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Learn to interpret drawings, sketches, software, plans to troubleshoot and repair problems.
• Assist skilled craftsman in measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling and installing electrical conduit.
• Assist with installation and testing of control and distribution apparatus; ensure safety of components.
• Observe equipment to identify hazards and determine adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Operate electrical and mechanical hand and power tools as directed.
