Job summary

Zeeland Farm Services I is hiring an Edible Oil Technician for the night shift (4:50pm to 5:00am) at the Zeeland, MI plant. The role monitors refinery processing equipment and ensures production quality, with a biweekly night schedule and a base hourly rate of $24.00 plus a $2.00 shift premium.

Responsibilities include monitoring parameters, sampling, recordkeeping, safety adherence, and collaboration across teams to maintain efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or Equivalent.
• Experience: 1-2 years in manufacturing preferred.
• Post-secondary education or technical trade certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Constantly monitor and control plant operations to carry out the established operations plan, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Physically monitor and maintain within normal ranges operating parameters including process temperatures, vacuums, pressures, flows and levels to evaluate automatically controlled process.
• Take product samples per product specifications, analyze product quality and record resulting test data.
• Maintain logs of instrument readings observed during hourly rounds, including gauges, pumps and tanks.
• Follow all company and regulatory food safety policies and procedures, reporting any potential issues to management and ensuring plant cleanliness.
• Communicate regularly with all other employees and departments to assist and ensure efficient plant operation.
• Participate in projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Provide a customer service attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while achieving quality standards.
• Abide by safety, health, environmental and policy procedures.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
