Job summary

Scripps Mercy Chula Vista seeks an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for full-time night coverage. You will assist nurses and physicians, document vital signs, and perform basic wound care and specimen collection in a fast-paced ED/urgent care setting.

Under supervision, you will transport patients, support unit secretary duties, and help maintain efficient, high-quality care. California EMT/CNA certification and BLS are required, with prior ER experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CA state EMT certification (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or CNA.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and physicians with patient care activities and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs.
• Perform patient care tasks including thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, and basic dressings and splints.
• Collect stool and urine specimens.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Provide coverage for unit secretary duties when needed.
