Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks an Emergency Services Care Assistant/Unit Secretary for the Arlington Heights ED. Per diem, 7pm–7:30am, every other weekend. Reports to the ED Manager and supports nursing and medical staff in patient care under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include direct patient care and non-licensed procedures, plus clerical and stocking tasks; high school diploma and CPR certification required; CNA/EMT/ED tech credentials encouraged.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school equivalent education or higher.
• CNA certification and CPR certification required.
• EMT or Paramedic credentials welcomed; nursing students with clinical exposure acceptable.
• ED tech experience in a similar setting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support ED and Treatment Center Nursing and Medical staff in patient care under RN supervision.
• Perform technical and medical procedures not governed by licensure as applicable.
• Assist in directing unit environmental aide for supply availability and perform clerical, stocking, and cleaning tasks as required.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Paramedic

Nursing student with six months clinical

EMT with at least one year field experience

Emergency Department Technician with at least two years current experience

Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
