Job summary

SafeSpace, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time DV Shelter Program Assistant to support the 24/7 hotline and emergency shelter operations in Martin County and Indian River County. The role requires night shifts on Fridays and Saturdays, with flexibility to meet program needs.

Responsibilities include handling hotline calls, conducting intakes, coordinating advocacy, and maintaining confidential participant data. Prior crisis support experience and strong communication skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; experience in crisis support or related fields preferred.
• Ability to engage survivors with empathy and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience with trauma-informed approaches and response to high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Handle hotline calls with survivors and partners, offering risk assessments and safety planning.
• Complete shelter intakes within 24 hours and enter data into client management system.
• Provide crisis counseling, referrals, and emotional support to survivors.
• Coordinate advocacy and case management appointments with program participants.
• Maintain participant data confidentiality and coordinate with shelter operations.
