Job summary

CyrusOne is seeking a Critical Environments Operator for night shift to monitor and maintain essential data center infrastructure. You will operate electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/R systems, ensuring continuous uptime while upholding safety and service standards.

The role supports 8- or 10-hour shifts on a rotating basis with a night shift differential. Opportunities for mentorship and career progression are available within a 24/7/365 Operations & Maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Safety mindset is essential and should be evident in daily operations.
• Ability to work overnight shifts on a rotating schedule across sites.
• Familiarity with CMMS and work order processes is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills expected.
• Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate data center mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/R systems to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Respond to building system alarms, prioritizing critical load protection and root-cause analysis.
• Execute preventive maintenance work orders and follow SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and MMRs as appropriate.
• Use CMMS to track work orders, labor hours, and PMs.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors; enforce safety protocols.
• Perform equipment and system modifications, including critical switching and safe area setup.
• Maintain awareness of and comply with all company, government, and client policies and EHS requirements.
• At senior levels: mentor junior operators, lead critical switching events, participate in capacity planning and reporting.
