Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a Custodian Lead to join the Wisconsin Union–Facilities Custodian Team. You will assist in training new staff, inspect progress, and support routine cleaning, maintenance, and snow removal under supervision. Work shifts are 3rd shift and hours rotate across Union South and Memorial Union.

The role includes indoor/outdoor duties, 40 hours per week, and opportunities to support continued operations across university facilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, stoop and climb for the majority of the shift.
• Lift/move supplies and equipment regularly up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Remove snow and ice outside during cold weather.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and secure facility entrances and report issues.
• Maintain organization of supply areas and document inventory.
• Document repairs, violations, and pest control needs.
