Job summary

Louisiana State University (LSU) is seeking a Custodian 2 for the night shift to maintain the LSU Student Union facility. The role requires moving throughout the 305,000-square-foot building to clean ballrooms, meeting rooms, lobbies, offices, and exterior spaces.

You will perform set-ups, clean floors, reset spaces after events, operate cleaning equipment, and support safety and cleanliness standards on a nightly schedule.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, grounds keeping, or food service work.

Responsibilities

• Cleans lobbies, bathrooms, hallways, meeting rooms, billiards area, and administrative area of the union by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and polishing.
• Responsible for set-ups and break downs associated with daily events in meeting rooms, lobbies, ballrooms and exterior grounds.
• Cleans, strips, waxes and polishes floors using industrial size mops and commercial type floor machines.
• Cleans floor machines and checks and recharges batteries; operates floor/power equipment as required for cleaning carpets.
• Empties trash and recycling containers and transports waste to proper containers; decontaminates and deodorizes containers.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Building Services supervisors or staff.
