Job summary

Thompson Hospitality is seeking a dependable Custodian to support the cleanliness and appearance of University of Louisville facilities. You will perform daily custodial tasks ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The role involves classroom and common area cleaning, restocking supplies, and assisting with event setup, with attention to safety and proper chemical handling. Evening or weekend coverage may be required at times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in educational, healthcare, hospitality, or commercial environments is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, residence halls, dining areas, common spaces, and other campus facilities.
• Perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Replenish restroom and facility supplies including soap, paper towels, tissue, and sanitizing products.
• Maintain entrances, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and exterior walkways to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Respond promptly to spills, emergency cleanups, and service requests.
• Assist with room setups and breakdowns for meetings, campus events, and special functions.
