Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College is seeking a custodian to support multiple campus buildings, maintain cleanliness, and assist with minor maintenance. The 3rd shift schedule runs 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with a pay of $19.13 per hour plus a $0.55 per hour shift premium.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to work independently, and handle flexible scheduling. Training is provided; prior commercial cleaning in education settings is preferred. Reports to the Building Manager.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school degree or GED diploma required.
• On-the-job training is provided with limited to no cleaning experience.
• Commercial cleaning experience in education environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of hardwood surfaces and floors throughout facilities.
• Restroom and classroom cleaning; restocking supplies as needed.
• Opening and securing facilities; snow removal; and safeguarding safety systems.
