Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College is seeking a Custodian to support cleaning and maintenance across campus facilities, including snow removal, opening/closing buildings, and monitoring fire alarms.

This full-time shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM, Mon–Fri) pays hourly wages of $18.95–$20.12 plus a $0.55 night shift differential and includes benefits.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to operate custodial equipment, lift 50 pounds, and work flexible hours as required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school degree or GED.
• On-the-job training available; commercial cleaning experience in education settings preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and perform basic maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean hardwood, carpeting, terrazzo, tile floors, and restrooms.
• Open and secure facilities at start/end of day.
• Snow removal and outdoor area cleanliness.
• Order cleaning supplies and replace fluorescent tubes.
• Identify chemicals for appropriate tasks.
