Job summary

Hollidaysburg Area School District Foundation is seeking a 12-month custodian to maintain school buildings and grounds, ensuring safe operation and effective use of facilities.

The role requires the ability to learn custodial procedures, operate boiler equipment, perform grounds keeping, and work cooperatively with staff to protect school property and provide a clean, safe environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn the procedures used in safe and effective custodial operations.
• Ability to learn safe and effective operation and maintenance of custodial equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with others and the physical strength to complete normal custodial tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties in assigned areas (sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, waxing/polishing, washing/vacuuming).
• Report emergencies or unsafe conditions to Lead Custodian and District Building Supervisor.
• Assist in unloading and storage of supplies and educational materials.
• Knowledgeable in gas/coal fired boiler operation and monitoring of related systems.
• Shovel snow, mow grass, and perform grounds keeping duties.
