Job summary

Chambersburg Area School District is seeking a Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds, ensuring equipment is functional and assisting students, staff and visitors as needed.

The role requires the ability to follow schedules, work with supervisors, and maintain a safe, clean environment across multiple school facilities. Occasional travel between buildings may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure the building at the beginning and end of the shift.
• Clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices and other areas per district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors; clean rugs, blinds and upholstered items.
• Wash walls, ceilings, windows and doors; remove graffiti and clean glass areas.
• Replace light bulbs and set up/dismantle furniture for meetings.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and snow removal; deliver supplies and materials.
