Job summary

Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School is seeking a Maintenance/Custodial/Custodian to keep facilities clean, safe, and functional for students and staff. You will perform routine cleaning, minor repairs, and operate custodial equipment.

This 12-month position works nights (8 hours) from 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM, Sundays off Saturday and Sunday, with a starting wage of $22.63 per hour plus a $300 annual third-shift premium. Applicants should be able to learn boiler operations and work well with others.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn procedures used in safe custodial operations.
• Ability to operate and maintain custodial equipment such as floor care, snow removal, and lawn care equipment.
• Ability to operate and maintain gas/coal boilers and related equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with others and maintain the physical strength to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties in assigned areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, waxing/polishing, washing/vacuuming.
• Report to Lead Custodian and District Building Supervisor any emergency or unsafe conditions requiring repairs.
• Assist in unloading and storing supplies, furniture, and educational materials.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot boilers and related equipment.
• Shovel snow, mow grass, and perform groundskeeping tasks as needed.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker facilities.
• Perform light maintenance and minor repairs to building and equipment.
• Secure building and ensure doors/windows are locked and lights are off as appropriate.
