Job summary

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist CRT for a temporary PRN night shift (5pm-5am) with 3-12 hour shifts per pay period, over a 14-week length. The Respiratory Therapist delivers diagnostic, therapeutic, and pharmacologic respiratory care, conducts patient assessments, and supports recovery under physician orders and clinical protocols.

This role requires CRT, BCLS, ACLS, PALS; NICU requirements if applicable.

Qualifications

• Proficient in administering pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic respiratory procedures.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare teams, patients, and families.
• Skilled in patient assessment, ventilator management, and airway maintenance.
• Competent in using EMR systems for documentation and reporting.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards, safety protocols, and infection control measures.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory treatments per orders and protocols.
• Orients patient to treatment modality to ensure cooperation.
• Assesses patients, monitors responses, and coordinates care with physicians.
• Manages ventilator settings and airway maintenance for safety.
• Documents treatments and patient responses accurately and thoroughly.
