Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a registered nurse to join our Critical Care Unit in Massachusetts. The role uses the nursing process from admission to discharge, with emphasis on patient safety, collaboration, and education.

This is a full-time, night-shift position with a 36-hour work week and a potential signing bonus. The ideal candidate holds Massachusetts licensure, an accredited nursing program, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts licensure and registration.
• Completion of an accredited school of nursing program.
• BLS is required for every RN, ACLS if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from Admission to Discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment per standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates care plan including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned setting.
• Delegates appropriately per job description and competency.
• Documents patient care per standard procedure.
• Develops and implements Education Plan for patient/family.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other providers.
• Administers medications and assists with treatments and procedures.
• Participates in Nursing Governance activities.
• Supports professional growth and staff development.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
