Caterpillar Inc. in Michigan is seeking team members for an Assembly/Production role focused on tooling, setup, and quality procedures.

The position requires following startup/shutdown steps, moving materials, and performing sub-assembly work to meet ISO standards. You will train others, set up machines, and participate in preventative maintenance while supporting a team on the 3rd shift (8:00pm–6:00am) with an hourly rate of $19.60, which includes a shift premium.

Qualifications

• Beginner level proficiency of blueprint reading.
• Previous use of precision measuring equipment.
• Resume or work history required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Identify tooling and equipment necessary to perform assigned operation.
• Follow start up and shutdown procedures on all equipment, monitor and adjust equipment as necessary and record same.
• Move materials as required using various methods.
• Perform assembly or sub-assembly processes as described (ringing, naming, hand assembly).
• Maintain records related to production, downtime, quality, maintenance, etc.
• Ensure all quality standards are met by inspection or measuring devices.
• Recognize and report equipment irregularities and malfunctions.
• Perform machine setup and rework as needed.
• Instruct and train assigned operators on tasks and safety procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Meet or exceed production requirements and communicate deviations.
