Job summary

Osceola County Government is seeking a Registered Nurse to render general and specialized nursing care for inmate patients in a correctional facility. The role includes administering medications, performing assessments, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate Degree in Nursing, possess an active Florida RN license, and maintain CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing and active Florida RN license.
• CPR certification required from AHA/ARC/ASHI; online CPR alone not accepted.
• Knowledge of medical treatments in a corrections facility and regulatory standards.
• Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Render general and specialized nursing care to inmate patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved techniques.
• Record and document medications, treatments and vital signs.
• Maintain electronic medical records and medical logs.
• Coordinate referrals to medical facilities as needed.
• Order medications and supplies through pharmacy and vendors.
• Work in a correctional facility environment with regulatory compliance in mind.
