Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Full Time Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) in Land O Lakes, FL to care for inmates at the Pasco County Detention Center. You will work with correctional officers and medical staff, performing assessments, administering medications, and managing chronic conditions in a controlled environment.

The role emphasizes high standards of care, patient safety, and adherence to security policies.

Qualifications

• Holds a current, unrestricted Florida RN license.
• Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
• Knowledge of nursing principles, occupational health and safety, infectious disease management, healthcare laws/regulations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime.
• Must pass criminal background check and drug screening.
• Physical capability to stand long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments of detained individuals.
• Monitor vital signs and document medical histories.
• Provide direct patient care, triage, assess needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
• Respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and arrange transport to facilities.
• Educate patients on preventative care and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Adhere to correctional facility security protocols while working with officers.
• Maintain accurate medical records and report relevant information.
