Job summary

CorrHealth in Boulder, CO is seeking a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to support inmate healthcare in a correctional facility, under the supervision of RNs. The shift is a 36/48 rotation, emphasizing direct patient care and teamwork.

Responsibilities include medication administration, essential nursing duties, and collaboration with the healthcare team to plan and implement treatment programs in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
• Maintain current licensure as an LPN/LVN in the state of employment.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Background check and pre-employment drug test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist in assessment of inmates' physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Assist in planning and implementing individual treatment programs and inmate teaching.
• Administer medications according to procedures, including IV therapy when certified.
• Assist providers in evaluations, procedures, and minor surgeries using SOAP charting.
• Obtain body fluid specimens and perform EKGs within proper procedures.
• Maintain and document controlled substances and medical equipment.
• Intervene safely in varying situations and follow standard precautions.
• Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans as ordered.
• Triaging and assessing healthcare requests.
