Job summary

CorrHealth is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support inmate care in a correctional health unit. The role involves nursing process execution under RN supervision, patient education, and medication administration, including IV therapy when certified.

Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, minor procedures, triage, and adherence to HIPAA and security policies. Weekend rotation applies; background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
• Current licensure as a LPN/LVN within the state of employment.
• Must hold current CPR/BLS certification.
• Must have current TB test (taken within one year).
• Willing to assist coworkers and work overtime if required; may act as a resource to others.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of health records in compliance with HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists in assessment of inmates' physical, psychological, and social dimensions.
• Assists in planning and implementing individual treatment programs and patient education.
• Administers medications and IV therapy (when certified) per procedures.
• Assists in evaluations, medical procedures, and minor surgeries using SOAP charting.
• Triages and assesses healthcare requests and ensures proper safety.
