Job summary

Quad Café Hartford is seeking an experienced Night Shift Cook to support daily café production during evening and overnight hours. You will take ownership of kitchen stations, ensure quality and food safety, and collaborate with the team to deliver excellent service.

The role emphasizes hands-on cooking, inventory control, and cost-conscious operation, with a focus on training and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on food service experience in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and sanitation.
• Ability to train or support team members and maintain service standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold foods per recipes and standards.
• Own assigned stations; ensure production is accurate and on schedule.
• Support café service and ensure timely execution of service requirements.
• Coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks during busy periods.
• Monitor quality, presentation, portions, temperature, and consistency.
• Train and coach team members; maintain food safety records.
• Assist with receiving, storing, rotating stock using FIFO.
• Identify shortages and communicate operational issues promptly.
• Minimize waste and support cost-control through efficient use of ingredients.
