Job summary

HP Hood LLC. is seeking a Controls Mechanic for night shifts in Batavia, NY. You will maintain and repair industrial equipment, troubleshoot electrical/control systems, and upgrade instrumentation to support production and quality goals.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in manufacturing, PLC experience (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma with 3+ years in manufacturing.
• Experience in industrial controls and instrumentation.
• Strong troubleshooting with electrical testing tools.
• Experience with PLCs, analog controls, sensors and VFDs.
• Experience working with outside vendors and contractors.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Electrical and electronic experience.
• Electrical drives – Resets and replacements.
• Motor wiring and testing.
• Sensor replacement – setting up parameters.
• Understand of PLCs – assist remote troubleshooting.
• Arch Flash Training Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preventative maintenance, repair and installation of equipment and upgrades to control systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems using schematics and test equipment.
• Read electrical schematics and work with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC programs.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all industrial equipment.
• Support production with urgent needs while ensuring safety and GMP compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors as needed and manage work orders.
