Job summary
Shearer’s Foods is seeking a skilled Controls & Automation Technician to maintain and optimize our controls and automation systems in a high-speed manufacturing environment. This role requires strong PLC/HMI expertise and collaboration with Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Production teams in Phoenix.
The position runs on a 6 PM–6 AM night shift with a pay rate of $42.50/hour plus a $3.00/hour night shift premium.
Qualifications
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical prints.
- Experience with ABB & Fanuc robot programming is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance or related experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute tasks with emphasis on safety and maintain a 'Safety First' culture.
- Troubleshoot using PLC/HMI code to diagnose downtime events.
- Maintain program backups and ensure changes meet safety/quality standards.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and system upgrades.
- Train maintenance staff on control systems and functions.
- Identify upgrades to prevent obsolescence and improve reliability.
- Develop PM schedules for controls equipment and cabinets.
- Ensure GMP compliance in all activities.
