Job summary

NGK Ceramics in Mooresville, NC is seeking a Continuous Extruder Floater on the C shift to operate and monitor extrusion and pugging processes for dried, formed ceramic products.

The role focuses on set-up checks, adjustments, data recording, and adherence to quality standards while maintaining safe work practices on a loud production line. Experience in manufacturing/warehousing is helpful; CRC Bronze or above preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete all required job training.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 month manufacturing/warehousing experience or equivalent.
• CRC Bronze or above.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor extrusion and pugging processes to produce dried, formed ceramic products meeting quality standards.
• Complete GHCM setup, verify batch and counts, log settings.
• Adjust cradle-related equipment and perform die holder assembly as instructed.
• Power-up/start-up procedures per approved instructions.
• Operate, monitor, and adjust extrusion; detect defects and take countermeasures per the Process Adjustment Plan.
• Record samples, weights, and inputs in the APICS/PCMS system; maintain SPC data.
• Move contaminated materials to confinement area and manage waste per procedures.
• Perform change-overs and document die adjustments on logs.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in PM/MMOL/G5S activities.
• Adhere to EMS procedures for waste handling.
