Job summary

James G. Davis Construction Corporation in the Mid-Atlantic seeks a Superintendent to lead on‑site field management, safety, and quality while coordinating with clients, design teams and trade partners.

You will supervise junior staff and foremen, develop look‑aheads, manage schedules, ensure compliance with EHS standards, review RFIs, daily reports and closeout activities. The role combines strong leadership with a drive to deliver projects on time and within budget, upholding Davis values and

Qualifications

Nine years of construction operations experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field with five years of progressing supervisory construction experience.
CPR / First Aid and OSHA 30-hour certifications.
Proficiency with computer‑based scheduling software, spreadsheet applications, project management software, and virtual construction software.
Knowledge and understanding of sustainable construction (e.g. LEED).
Ability to manage a team and lead a project to a successful outcome.

Responsibilities

Lead field meetings with internal and external stakeholders to align project goals and timelines, ensuring clear communication across parties.
Develop and manage project schedules, look-aheads, and logistics plans; coordinate with trade partners to meet milestones.
Implement and enforce quality control processes and safety plans; mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
Manage project documentation (RFIs, daily reports, drawings, QA records) and closeout activities.
Review contractor work for compliance with contracts and quality standards.
