Job summary

RRD is hiring for a Collator Operator on the 3rd shift in Osage, IA. The role starts at $25.44/hour with a $3/hour shift premium and includes weekend overtime potential. Safety inspections and production tracking are required as you set up and run collating, labeling, patching, and finishing equipment.

The successful candidate will read and follow work orders, adjust machines for quality, and ensure accurate finishing of printed materials. Benefits and overtime opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications containing collating requirements indicating the number and sequence of webs needed to complete the work and maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Knowledge of quality and machining requirements for various coated and uncoated types of paper stock.
• Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and refining adjustments to maintain quality and prevent machining impressions.
• Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines.
• Skill in using the full range of standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy of collating machines.
• General knowledge of collating/label application machines to perform standard and specialized folds, gluing, perforating and cutting of printed materials.
• Thorough knowledge of the setup, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities and limitations of the collating machine to perform standard and specialized folding, collating and cutting of printed materials to complete a combined finishing product.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate collating/labeling/patching machines per specifications.
• Review specifications and set up equipment for forms collating from web rolls, label affixing, or window patching.
• Operate machinery to assemble finishes such as folding, perforating, cutting and labeling.
• Perform safety inspections, document problems, and track production during operation.
