Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Night Shift Machining Supervisor to oversee the night shift in a precision machining department. You will lead about 20 machinists, ensuring safe, high-quality production on Makino horizontal mills and related tooling, with a hands-on, results-driven approach.

Responsibilities include guiding NC programming using Mastercam, interpreting blueprints, and maintaining schedule adherence while promoting safety and teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years leading CNC machining teams.
• Supervisory experience in manufacturing/machining.
• Hands-on CNC milling and lathe operation knowledge.
• Ability to read blueprints/engineering drawings.
• Strong leadership, motivation, and development skills.
• Experience with CNC programming with Mastercam.
• Ability to coordinate tasks across shifts/departments.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead a night shift team of ~20 machinists to ensure smooth operations.
• Set up and oversee Makino horizontal milling machines per specs.
• Read blueprints and drawings to guide machining.
• Monitor CNC milling/lathe processes for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Perform in-process and final quality checks on parts.
• Provide hands-on guidance on CNC programming, tooling, and setups.
• Coordinate work assignments and balance workloads to meet schedules.
• Train and mentor machinists on safety, machining practices, and quality.
• Communicate shift updates and issues to improve processes.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and enforce safety standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment/process issues and escalate as needed.
• Assist with material handling up to 50 lbs when required.
