Job summary

RiseMe in Newark, NJ is seeking a Night Shift CNC Manager to lead night operations, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient production. • Proven ability to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills for night shifts.
• Experience using production data to identify issues and drive improvements.
• Experience in cabinet/woodworking or metal/plastics manufacturing preferred.
• Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Position Overview

The Night Shift CNC Manager is responsible for leading night shift CNC manufacturing operations to deliver safe, consistent, and efficient production results. This role owns shift performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost while partnering with the Day Shift CNC Manager, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other supporting teams to maintain strong operations across shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leads, and production employees across the night shift.
• Own night shift CNC production performance, including safety, quality, output, machine uptime, and labor efficiency.
• Oversee approximately 10 CNC machines, two edge-banders, and supporting production equipment to meet daily production goals.
• Manage staffing, overtime, workflow, and production priorities based on business needs and available capacity.
• Monitor equipment downtime and partner with Maintenance to identify root causes, improve machine reliability, and minimize production interruptions.
• Address quality issues quickly and work with Quality and Production teams to prevent recurring problems.
• Review production data to identify opportunities to increase machine output, improve labor efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide clear daily shift reporting and maintain strong handoffs with the Day Shift CNC Manager, including performance, downtime, quality concerns, staffing issues, and open priorities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including experience leading supervisors, team leads, and production employees.
• Hands-on leadership experience in CNC machining, automated manufacturing, or a high-volume production environment.
• Demonstrated ability to improve productivity, reduce equipment downtime, and develop production teams.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead independently during night shift operations.
• Experience using production data and performance measures to identify issues and drive improvements.
• Experience in cabinet manufacturing, woodworking, automotive, metal fabrication, or plastics manufacturing preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement experience, and/or bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
