Responsibilities

• Lead night shift CNC machinists and production staff, ensuring safety, quality, productivity and attendance.
• Coordinate staffing, machine assignments and workflow to meet schedules.
• Provide hands-on CNC setup and troubleshooting support.
• Ensure blueprints, GD&T, routers, and work instructions are followed.
• Monitor efficiency, downtime, scrap, and escalate production barriers.
• Coach, train and cross-train employees; partner with HR and operations.
• Maintain floor presence and enforce PPE and housekeeping standards.
• Communicate status, equipment concerns, quality issues, and staffing needs at handoffs.
• Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement with hands-on assistance.

Precision Aero Company is seeking an experienced Night Shift Production Supervisor to lead our CNC Machinists and assigned production employees. This senior-level, hands‑on role combines technical machining expertise with strong people leadership to keep night shift operations running safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

What You’ll Do

• Lead night shift production employees, setting clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and professional conduct.
• Coordinate staffing, machine assignments, job priorities, and workflow to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
• Provide hands‑on technical support for CNC setups, tooling, turning operations, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure employees follow blueprints, GD&T requirements, job routers, work instructions, and approved machining processes.
• Monitor efficiency, downtime, scrap, and job completion; address production barriers and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance.
• Verify that in‑process inspections and production records are completed accurately, and ensure questionable or nonconforming parts are contained and escalated.
• Coach and train employees, support cross‑training, and address performance concerns in partnership with Human Resources and operations leadership.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, reinforcing safe work practices, required PPE, and housekeeping standards.
• Communicate production status, equipment concerns, quality issues, and staffing needs through thorough shift handoffs.
• Support root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts, and provide hands‑on production assistance when needed.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required; technical education or formal machining training preferred.
• At least five years of CNC machining or precision manufacturing experience, with strong CNC lathe experience preferred.
• At least three years of progressive lead or supervisory experience in machining or manufacturing preferred.
• Advanced working knowledge of CNC setups, tooling, machining processes, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T, inspection requirements, gages, and work instructions.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing needs and make sound decisions with limited off‑shift support.
• Basic computer proficiency and accurate production and labor reporting skills.
• Aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience and familiarity with AS9100/ISO‑based quality systems strongly preferred.

Equivalent combinations of relevant education, technical experience, and leadership experience may be considered.

Schedule and Work Environment

This position works night shift and requires flexibility for overtime, peak production periods, and operational emergencies. Work takes place in a manufacturing environment around operating machinery and production noise, with required personal protective equipment.

The role involves extended periods of standing and walking, lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, and bending, stooping, kneeling, and other movements needed to support production. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
